Lee Buick GMC Truck Named April Business of the Month

The Boonville Area Chamber of Commerce is very proud to award Lee Buick GMC Truck as the April Business of the Month. “We wanted to recognize the Lee family for their dedication to our Chamber and the Boonville area,” said Chamber president Cindy Lee. “Thanks for your continuous support of our community!”
The Lee family entered into the automobile business in 1953 when Gus and Alice purchased the Pontiac dealership from Higby Motors. They remained active in the business until their passing. Dick Lee joined the family business in 1954, with Gladys joining in the late 70s. In 1962, the Lees took on the Buick and GMC franchises. With that purchase, their original location (now the home of NAPA) on Main Street became too small. Their present location was purchased in 1965 with the new showroom and offices added in 1989. Major renovations with the General Motors Facility Image Program were recently completed. The Lee family has always been known for their honesty. Their motto: “You must take care of your customers or they won’t take care of you.” It is estimated that over 50 percent of their sales come from repeat customers.
Dick stayed active in the business until his passing in 2016. Gladys still comes into work every day. Lee’s is currently owned and operated by the third generation of the Lee family: Rick, Randy and Mike are in sales, and Robert and Rodney are in service. They also currently employ 18 individuals: three office staff, Annette Bourgeois (finance/insurance manager and title clerk), Kitty Clark (comptroller), and Beth Ward (accounts receivable); two service people, Anthony Mierek and Ian Grenier; two in parts, Kim Rowsam and Matt Pond; six service technicians, Rick Vandeburg, Jon Marmon, Bruce Wheelock, Curt Cihocki, Tyler Kline and Brian Dailey; two body shop personnel, Mark Romeo and Robert Brinkerhoff; two vehicle preparations, Mark Lee and Steven Decker; and one maintenance personnel, Bertha Munn.
What does the future hold for Lee Buick GMC Truck? It’s simple – to continue what Gus and Dick Lee started, to run a family oriented business.

“A Season For Everyone”

If it sounds like Boonville combines the best parts of Central New York then we definitely agree!

Our community is a natural center for lovers of outdoor life, rich history or just quiet relaxation.

There’s no hectic resort atmosphere but we do have small town hospitality, friendly people and an engaging blend of the classic and the modern. Whether it’s shopping, hiking, winter sports or waking up in one of our charming bed and breakfasts, you’ll feel what we treasure about our area almost immediately.

You can reach out and touch the history of New York and the United States, travel hundreds of miles by snowmobile, or even show your children real reindeer for Christmas.

Our visitors find themselves returning to Boonville year after year. We’d love for you to join us for a day, or for a lifetime. Come to Boonville and let us help you create your own memories!
